A: No, we are not accredited. However, our 18-week courses are suitable for a parent-issued 1/2 credit homeschool credit for writing or a business elective.

A: A client portal is a secure online platform where students and guardians can communicate directly with their teacher, access course materials, and submit assignments.

 

Q: Who is Regina?

A: Regina is our AI study buddy, designed to help students with all areas of their course. She aids in understanding concepts but does not create business plan sections for students.

 

Q: How long are the live classes?

A: Premium one-on-one classes are up to 45 minutes long, depending on the student's attention span and needs. Standard one-on-one classes are 30 minutes long, and group classes are 60 minutes long.

 

Q: What is the class schedule?

A: Group courses have set start dates during spring and fall. Standard and Premium one-on-one courses offer open enrollment upon availability for flexibility. All live virtual classes typically occur once a week, except for teacher holidays, student holiday requests, and specific requests from one-on-one students.

 

Q: Can I transfer between course types?

A: Yes, students can transfer between course types based on availability and their learning needs. Please contact us for more information.

 

Q: Are there any prerequisites for the courses?

A: No specific prerequisites are required. Our courses are designed to accommodate students with various levels of business knowledge.

 

Q: How do you assess student progress?

A: We use a combination of quizzes, project milestones, and the final business plan to assess student progress. A minimum 70% quiz grade is required for progression.


 

Q: What is an at-home grading guide?

 

A: The at-home grading guide is a PDF document available for purchase at $24.99. It provides comprehensive details on how to assess and grade each course component and calculate a final grade for the entire course. This guide is designed for parents and guardians who wish to have a thorough understanding of the grading process.

 

Q: What is the live grading format?

 

A: The live grading format offers three options for students:

1. Virtual class participation grade: Assesses in-class participation and course effort.

2. No-grade option: Provides a more relaxed learning environment without formal grading.

3. Premium full grade option: Includes a midterm and final test in addition to course quizzes.

 

Q: What is the format of the course?

 

A: The course format consists of:

1. Reading a lesson

2. Completing work in a pre-purchased business plan journal and/or pdf worksheets within the online course

3. Taking an automatically graded quiz (70% required to pass)

4. Refine and format business plan sections for the final document and presentation project

 

Live virtual classes include teacher instruction for all business plan sections and access to the study buddy for 24-hour support.

 

Q: How do premium and standard students receive their client portal?

 

A: Students who have purchased the standard or premium online course directly from the site can:

Q: What are the main differences in the levels of the course?

 

A: Course levels differ as follows:

1. All students: Access to online course, lessons, and required quizzes

2. Live virtual students: Submit business plan sections for teacher assessment

3. Standard virtual students: 

   - 30-minute one-on-one virtual classes

   - Optional participation grade

   - At-home business plan presentation with guardian

4. Premium students:

   - Up to 45-minute virtual classes

   - Structural improvements to business plan sections

   - Option for full grading with midterm and final exam

   - In class presentations

5. Group students:

   - 60-minute virtual classes

   - Small group class of 5

   - Optional participation grade

   - In class presentations

   - Course community group access for teacher/peer communication and collaboration

6. Self-paced students:

   - 12-month online access to complete courses

   - $40 USD per month recurring pricing

   - 30 day free trial - study buddy student+ page for 24 hour support

 

Q: How can self-paced students receive support?

 

A: Self-paced students can:

Q: What homeschool credit is suggested for each course?

 

Important Note on Accreditation and Homeschool Credits

While our courses are not accredited, they can be given credit for homeschoolers by the parent, depending on their specific homeschool laws for their area. The number after the elective is considered the sequence number on the high school transcript made by the guardian.

- Suggested credit: ½ credit in ELA, Writing, or Business 3 elective

- Requirement: Student creates their full business plan document while completing the course

 

2. Extended Business Plan Course (18 week course Pt 1 + 18 week course Pt 2 extended advanced lessons 8-11 + project presentation)

- Suggested credit: 1 credit in ELA, Writing, or Business 3 elective

- Requirement: Completion of the 18-week course plus the extending your business plan course and project presentation
